See Specialities

My name is Jon-Elyn and I'm so glad you're here. I provide psychotherapy for individuals, couples. and families who are searching for lasting and sustainable change.

Are you experiencing burn-out, conflict in your relationships, or anxiety that seems to be taking over your life? People-pleasing and perfectionism may be your go-to, but it doesn't have to be this way. I work with clients who want to find a long-term solution and re-gain control of their lives.

Professional Background

My name is Jon-Elyn Murphree and I am a native of Trussville, Alabama. I received my Bachelors of Science in Addiction and Recovery and my Masters of Science in Human Development and Family Studies concentrating in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from the University of Alabama.

I would be honored to be a small part in your healing journey.

I have worked with individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of mental health needs; although my specialties include perfectionism/people-pleasing, relational issues, anxiety, depression, and faith-based counseling (when requested).

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I hope to provide a comfortable atmosphere where you can fully be yourself. I understand that a great therapeutic relationship takes time and trust. If you want to see if we are a good fit, I am happy to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation with you.

Feel free to fill out the form on the contact page and I will be in touch.

I am currently being supervised by Greer Jones, LMFT-S as I work towards my full licensure hours.

Therapy Approaches

Relational

I believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each part of our environment plays a role in who we are becoming and the ways we interact.

Psychotherapy

I work to help you examine problematic behaviors, feelings, and thoughts to discover unconscious meanings and motivations.

Person-Centered

I believe that each person inherently possesses the ability to create change in their environment and I work to discover things that work for you as an individual.

Cognitive Behavioral

This approach is utilized to discover how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all connect to and influence one another and how to create change when working with thoughts.
